RCC 1st XI Team player Ollie Baker (17 yrs old) is at college at Elite International Cricket Academy (EICA) at the Ageas Bowl and was asked by his cricket coach last week if he wanted to bowl on Tuesday/Wednesday, what he was surprised to be told it was to the England team, who were preparing for the 4th test v India at Ageas. So without hesitation he said yes and then had two good sessions bowling to the likes of Root, Stokes, Curran, Pope, Ali & Anderson. It’s stuff that dreams are made of and after that initial 1st ball the nerves were gone. Ollie said “ I was really nervous at the beginning but after a few balls I just forgot who was at the other end. All the players were really friendly as were the coaches and it was a massive experience for me to be asked & something I won’t forget in a hurry”.
